The AWQ-4/24-MP-D dummy plug is a protective cap that mates with the AWQ-4/24-MP in-line connector body when the connector is not in use — protecting the 24 signal contacts from debris, biofouling, and mechanical damage during ROV launch, recovery, and storage. The dummy plug uses the same sealing system as the live mating connector, maintaining the IP68 seal rating of the unmated connector face and preventing seawater ingress into the contact cavities.
