AW-MP SPLIT In-Line Pie Connector AWQ-4/24-MP

AWQ-4/24-MP Split In-Line Pie Connector — 4-Sector 24-Contact Subsea Signal Connector

Split (pie-wedge) connectors use a unique sectored contact arrangement where each contact occupies a pie-slice sector of the connector face, enabling extremely high contact counts in a small diameter body. The AWQ split connector system mates two half-circle or sector bodies together, with each sector containing multiple signal contacts — providing 24, 32, or 42 contacts in connector bodies comparable in diameter to standard 8–12 pin circular connectors. This high-density architecture suits ROV and umbilical systems where dozens of sensor, control, and signal circuits must pass through a single connector penetration in a pressure housing or tether termination.

The AWQ-4/24-MP is a 4-sector, 24-contact split in-line (IL) connector — each of the 4 pie sectors contains 6 contacts, giving 24 independent signal circuits in a compact form factor. The multi-piece (MP) in-line design connects two cable runs directly, making it the standard split connector for mid-tether signal junctions, tether terminations, and sensor pod connections on working-class ROV systems. The anodised aluminium alloy body with EPDM seals is rated to 4,000 m depth (400 bar).

Key Design Features

  • 4-sector split pie design with 24 total contacts (6 per sector)
  • In-line (MP) mount — cable-to-cable mid-tether or junction connection
  • Depth rated to 4,000 m (400 bar)
  • Anodised aluminium alloy body, EPDM O-ring seals
  • Gold-plated signal contacts — low contact resistance
  • High contact density: 24 circuits in a compact diameter body
  • Compatible with AWQ-4/24-S-BC bulkhead and AWQ-4/24-MP-D dummy plug
  • Suitable for ROV signal, control, and sensor circuit bundles

Selection Guide

AWQ-4/24 vs AWQ-8/32 vs AWQ-7/42 — Contact Count Selection

Select AWQ-4/24 (24 contacts) for systems with up to 24 signal circuits. Select AWQ-8/32 (32 contacts) when 25–32 circuits are required. Select AWQ-7/42 (42 contacts) for high-density systems needing 33–42 circuits. All three series use the same split pie mating concept and are available in in-line (MP) and bulkhead (S-BC) mount styles with matching dummy plugs (MP-D).
