This 1500V DC twin core solar cable in 6 mm² features a low smoke emission outer sheath — making it suitable for solar installations in enclosed, semi-enclosed, and populated areas where smoke generation from cable fires must be minimised to protect evacuation routes and building occupants. The low smoke sheath compound produces dramatically less smoke density than standard XLPO or PVC when exposed to flame, complying with IEC 61034-2 smoke density testing requirements.
The twin 6 mm² tinned copper conductors are individually insulated with XLPO and enclosed in the low-smoke outer sheath — combining the electrical performance of standard H1Z2Z2-K solar cable with the enhanced fire safety of low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) sheath materials. Rated 1500V DC; temperature range ‑40°C to +90°C; UV and ozone resistant outer sheath.

Specify low smoke solar cable wherever the project specification, local building code, or fire engineering report identifies solar DC cables as cables in occupied or enclosed spaces. In the UK, BS 9999 (fire safety in buildings) and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) recommend LSZH cables in occupied buildings. In Europe, CPR (Construction Products Regulation) Cca or Dca fire class cables may be required — check with your project fire engineer or AHJ.
