Our custom dual core (twin core) solar DC cable integrates both the positive (+) and negative (‑) DC conductors in a single cable body — eliminating the need for two separate single-core cables in solar installations where neatness, installation speed, and reduced cable management hardware are priorities. The dual core construction halves the number of cable runs, connectors, and clips required compared to two single-core cables, significantly reducing installation labour cost on rooftop and ground-mount solar projects.
Available in custom configurations: equal cross-section conductors (e.g., 2×4 mm², 2×6 mm²) or mixed cross-sections for asymmetric power and return paths. Both conductors are individually insulated with XLPO compound and enclosed in a common XLPO outer sheath — providing the same UV resistance, operating temperature rating, and 1500V DC performance as our single-core solar cables. Custom colours and custom lengths available.

Each core is individually rated at 1500V DC to earth. The voltage between the two conductors (positive to negative) is therefore limited by the individual core insulation rating — confirm that your system DC bus voltage does not exceed the conductor-to-conductor voltage rating of the specific cable construction. For standard solar string applications with open-circuit voltages below 1000V DC, dual-core cables are fully suitable. Contact us for custom high-voltage dual-core cable designs.
