TUV Approved Solar Panel PV Cable Single Core 4mm2 6mm2 10mm2 16mm2

TUV Approved Solar Panel PV Cable — Single Core 4 / 6 / 10 / 16 mm² 1500V DC

Our TUV approved solar panel PV cable range covers the full spectrum of single-core cross-sections used in photovoltaic DC wiring — from 4 mm² for residential string wiring to 16 mm² for high-current combiner box output and DC main cable applications. Each size carries independent TUV Rheinland approval to EN 50618 (H1Z2Z2-K designation), rated at 1500V DC with a Class 5 tinned copper conductor and XLPO insulation and sheath.

The availability of multiple cross-sections from a single qualified product range simplifies procurement and documentation for EPCs (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractors managing multi-MW solar projects — all sizes share the same EN 50618 test certificate, datasheet, and supplier approval, reducing the documentation burden for IEC 61215 / IEC 61730 system compliance packages.

Cross-Section Range & Typical Application

Cross-sectionTypical UseApprox. Ampacity (90°C, free air)
4 mm²Residential & small commercial string wiring~38A
6 mm²Commercial string, long string runs~46A
10 mm²High-current strings, combiner input~63A
16 mm²Combiner output, DC main cable (short runs)~85A

Typical Applications

  • Multi-MW solar farm complete DC string cable supply
  • EPC contractor solar project single-source cable procurement
  • Commercial rooftop installations requiring multiple cable sizes
  • String-to-combiner and combiner-to-inverter DC wiring
  • Solar project O&M replacement cables matching original specification
  • Utility-scale ground-mount solar farm DC BOS (Balance of Systems) wiring

Selection Guide

Selecting the Correct Cross-Section for Your Application

For string wiring, calculate maximum string current (module Isc × 1.25 safety factor) and select a cross-section with ampacity >15% headroom at your installation ambient temperature. For combiner output and DC main cables carrying multiple strings in parallel, apply the IEC 60364-7-712 current rating de-rating factors for grouped cables in conduit or buried installation, then select accordingly.
