This flexible cord combines EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber core insulation with a chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) thermoplastic rubber outer jacket. EPDM provides outstanding electrical insulation and resistance to heat, ozone, and weathering, while the CPE jacket adds excellent oil resistance, toughness, and flame retardancy — meeting or exceeding UL 62 and IEC 60245 requirements for hard-usage portable applications.
Available in 300V and 600V ratings, 2 to 4 conductors, AWG sizes 18 AWG to 4/0 AWG (or equivalent mm²), this cable is the preferred choice for demanding North American industrial and construction applications requiring both weather and oil resistance.
EPDM/CPE combinations deliver superior performance over traditional SBR rubber in heat ageing (90°C vs 60°C), oil resistance (CPE jacket), and UV stability — the preferred upgrade for any application currently using S or SO type cables.
