The HP4 (High Power, 4-pin) wet-mate connector series is the highest-pin-count power connector in the BHB/ILB power family — combining four independent power contacts in a single wet-mate body to support complex power distribution topologies including 3-phase AC + protective earth, dual-rail DC + PE, or four independent DC circuits for multi-thruster or multi-motor subsea vehicles. Each contact is rated at 600V DC/AC at up to 70A, giving a maximum combined power delivery capacity of up to 280A total across all four contacts. Depth rated to 4,000 m (400 bar).
The High Power (HP) designation refers to the increased contact diameter and conductor accommodation compared to the standard BHB/ILB 2 and 3-pin connectors — HP4 contacts support cable conductors to 16 mm² per contact, compared to 10 mm² for the standard series. This enables the HP4 to handle higher per-contact currents at lower contact resistance. Available in bulkhead (HPIL4) and in-line (HPIL4) mount styles; female (F) and male (M) variants in each style.

Choose HP4 when individual circuit current exceeds 50A, or when conductor cross-sections >10 mm² must be terminated. For lower-current 4-circuit requirements, consider using two BHB2 or ILB2 connectors in parallel — this reduces connector diameter and may simplify cable routing in space-constrained ROV frames. For high-current single-circuit requirements, the IL1/BH1 single-contact series remains the preferred choice.
The HPIL4F is a SubConn High Power Series in-line connector featuring 4 contacts rated for 600 V DC/AC rms at 50 A per contact (200 A max per connector). Chloroprene rubber body and nitrile O-ring seal enable wet-mate operation at 300 bar depth with >500 mating cycles. Inline female for high-power ROV umbilicals, subsea battery systems, and heavy-duty marine power distribution.
