The MCOM6F is a rugged 6-pin female insert designed for the RV POWER Micro Circular Overmold Connector series. Traditional subsea connectors use field potting — applying two-part epoxy compound around the cable entry point in the field. While effective, field potting introduces variability: mixing errors, cure time delays, and application defects that can compromise water blocking performance. The RV POWER overmolded connector series eliminates these risks entirely by molding the chloroprene rubber body around the contact insert under controlled factory conditions — achieving consistent, repeatable encapsulation every time.
Each MCOM6F insert is overmolded with premium chloroprene rubber (neoprene), vulcanized at temperature and pressure to create a permanent, homogeneous bond between the rubber body and the contact module. The result: zero delamination risk, consistent Shore A hardness (~65), and a connector that maintains its water-blocking performance through thousands of mating cycles.
