The CORDAFLEX (SMK) is the highest-performance rubber crane drum reeling cable in its voltage class — designed for fast-moving gantry cranes, container terminals, and port equipment where travel speed and tensile load set the design constraints. Travel speeds up to 240 m/min with sustained tensile loads of 30 N/mm² are achieved through the combination of Class FS very finely stranded copper conductors, PROTOLON EPR insulation, and an anti-torsion polyester braid vulcanized between the inner and outer PROTOFIRM PCP sheaths.
The (SMK)-V variant adds a central aramid support element for vertical reeling applications — typically spreader frame hoists on container cranes — where the cable must support its own weight over the full hoist height.
